Frequently Asked QuestionsStraight answers to the most common questions about boilers, gas safety, plumbing and heating from Andy Lander, Gas Safe registered engineer.
Your boiler should be serviced annually by a Gas Safe registered engineer. This keeps it running safely and efficiently, maintains your manufacturer warranty, and is a legal requirement for landlords.
Signs include: it is over 15 years old, it breaks down frequently, your energy bills have increased significantly, it takes a long time to heat up, or it is making unusual noises. Andy can assess your boiler and give you an honest recommendation — he will never push you toward a replacement if a repair is the right answer.
Andy is a Worcester Bosch Accredited Installer, Vaillant Advance Approved and ATAG Approved Partner. He also services and installs Baxi, Potterton, Ideal, Viessmann and all other major makes. As an ex Worcester Bosch and British Gas engineer, no boiler is too complex.
As a Worcester Bosch Accredited Installer, Andy can offer extended warranties of up to 12 years on qualifying new Worcester Bosch installations. Andy will confirm the warranty available for any boiler he recommends.
The cost depends on the make, model, and complexity of the installation. Andy provides free, no-obligation quotes with fixed prices — what you are quoted is what you pay. Use the Free Boiler Quote form or call 020 3355 0731.
Yes — finance options are available through our partner TradeHelp, including 0% interest options. Ask Andy for details when you receive your quote.
A CP12 is a Landlord Gas Safety Record issued after an annual gas safety inspection. Landlords are legally required to have one carried out every 12 months by a Gas Safe registered engineer and to provide a copy to tenants within 28 days.
Gas Safe registered means an engineer is legally qualified and certified to work on gas appliances in the UK. It is illegal for an unregistered engineer to carry out gas work. You can verify Andy’s registration on the Gas Safe Register website — his number is 199048.
Carbon monoxide (CO) is a colourless, odourless gas produced by incomplete combustion. It is potentially fatal and undetectable without a CO alarm. Andy checks for CO risk as part of every gas safety inspection and boiler service. Every home with gas appliances should have a working CO alarm.
